We are looking forward to new challenges in the New Year after what has been a very successful and exciting year in 2011, with the company having some major successes and acquisitions.

Our new Electronic Dyno system and Dyno Room has an increased capacity for engines up to 750HP. We have also purchased a new state-of-the-art Metal Spraying System which gives off the smoothest and most reliable finish to our rebuilt machining surfaces.

To top these accuisitions off, we have accquired, installed and comissioned a new maxi CNC Centre, capable of machining some of the largest Engines and components in mining, industrial and transport sectors including the CAT 3600 Series engines and other similar sized engines.

We are proud to say we are one of the few companies in the world with the capacity to machine such engines and we are all looking forward to working with our customers with this.

2012 is set to be another high achieving year for Teterin Engineering, after putting in countless hours into developing our management systems and expansions to our machining capacity to meet customer demand.

We look forward to the New Year and working closer with our highly valued customers and thank them for their support throughout 2011 and may 2012 be another prosperous year for us all.

Thanks and Happy New Year!!

Teterin Engineering – The Leader in Large Cylinder Block Machining

Teterin Engineering – The Leader in Large Cylinder Block Machining
“At the forefront of Large Block Machining Globally”

Teterin Engineering’s class leading large cylinder block machining capabilities have just leapt to an even higher level with the recent commissioning of a new CNC Machining Centre specifically designed for large cylinder block machining. The commissioning of the new machining centre at Teterin Engineering’s Islington works marks only the 3rd machine of its type in operation globally and the only machine of its type in operation outside of North America.
This specialist large cylinder block CNC machine tool is designed to accommodate large cylinder blocks such as CAT 3600, Waukesha AT, MTU 8000, MTU 1163, EMD and GE Locomotive engines.

Teterin Engineering Managing Director, Peter Burgess, comments, “This new CNC machine tool represents a very significant investment, ensuring Teterin Engineering remains as the leader in large block machining in Australia and Asia. Our ability to achieve the highest quality and accuracy standards together with quick turnaround on large work pieces will be greatly enhanced with this new machine. In terms of capacity, this investment puts Teterin Engineering at the forefront of large block machining capabilities globally”.

The installation of the new CNC machine tool took 6 weeks, firstly requiring large reinforced concrete footings to be poured for the machine tool to sit on. Once the footings had cured, the machine was placed into position, levelled and bolted down. Commissioning was then commenced by the American manufacturers Commissioning Engineer and the machine took its first cut on Friday the 4th of November.

Teterin Engineering Business Development Manager, Tony Fox, comments, “This is a very exciting time for Teterin Engineering, and the business is very proud to have commissioned such a machine tool, allowing Teterin Engineering to deliver unparalleled capability, capacity and value to owners, users and maintainers of very large gas and diesel engines”.

Teterin Engineering continuing to Advance Australian Engine Reconditioning

Teterin Engineering continuing to advance Australian engine reconditioning with announcement of Rottler F109 CNC installation

Teterin Engineering is proud to announce that the company has successfully installed and commissioned a new CNC machining center specifically designed for machining large size engine cylinder blocks. The new machining centre has been installed into our Engine Machining and Repair Facility at Islington, near Newcastle NSW. This is the first machine of its type to be installed in the Southern Hemisphere and only the third world-wide. The American built machining centre clearly positions Teterin Engineering as the leading engine reconditioner in Australia and permits the company to provide the highest levels of machining accuracy for cylinder bores and crankshaft tunnel bores for large diesel and gas engines. The machining centre has 1.71 m under the spindle 1.3 m wide X 6.3 m bed. It is fitted with CNC controls utilising a Microsoft touch screen program. The machine is designed specifically for the larger engine types such as CAT 3600, MTU 8000, Waukeshau AT, EMD, ALCO and GE locomotive engines.Tetern Engineering is now one of only a handful of companies worldwide who have the capability, technology and experience to machine large, heavy duty industrial engines. The new machining centre joins the companies exisiting line-up of 3 similar machines all capable of machining the CAT 3520 and MTU 20V 4000 series engines.

Teterin Engineering is ISO 9001 accredited to Lloyds Register and has established an enviable reputation in the industry the highest standards of quality, accuracy of work by its highly skilled technicians and tradespeople, customer service and on-time delivery. Teterin Engineering’s expertise with Diesel Engine Systems provides valuable support to industry

A Teterin Engineering Technician was able to visit WDS’s site and replace failed components on the Diesel Engine System, getting the machine up and running in a very short time and hence minimising the impact of the machine problem on WDS’s critical time path for their project. As can be seen by the correspondence below, WDS note the positive impact Teterin Engineering delivered in relation to this machine problem.

G’day Scott,

Thanks again for helping out last Friday, Darrell turned up with all the gear and had us back on track in a couple of hours. 3032 was a priority asset for our project over the weekend, major maintenance, conveyor and electrical relocations were planned some weeks ago. With Teterins support our project only lost ½ a day not 4 days.

Thanks again excellent service, please thank Darrell on WDS behalf.
All the best,

Cameron McDonald
