Teterin performs In-situ machining on HMAS Parramatta

Teterin Engineering has partnered with MTU Detroit Diesel in what was a first for MTU by completing machine work on the cylinder bores of an MTU 1163 Engine in-situ, inside of the Naval Vessel berthed in Sydney, Australia.

Teterin Engineering’s Geoff Ross, who is the supervisor and master machinist in the Rebore and machining department completed the innovative procedure earning himself and the company many compliments and praises from all involved in the overhaul of the engine including MTU and Naval staff.

MTU King’s Park Branch Manager, Rino Grosso was thoroughly impressed by the skills shown by Geoff commenting to Managing director Peter Burgess: “Please pass on our sincere thanks on an outstanding machining job performed by Geoff Ross on HMAS Parramatta.

This is another first for MTU-DDA Kings Park and Teterin Engineering being the first time for this procedure to be done insitu.
