Engine Component Reconditioning Services

Teterin Engineering is committed to performing to the highest quality standards and is quality accredited to AS/NZS ISO 9001 2008. The company’s core business is the re-machining of engine components ( engine reconditioning & engine component reconditioning) . The company has a large range of modern CNC and specialised machine tools capable of machining engine and transmission components to the Engine Manufacturer’s most exacting tolerances and standards. The machining of engine components is aided by the company’s integrated management system and the totally integrated business management software system. All work follows a logical work flow process through seven dedicated work centres each of which have quality assurance procedures to observe.

  • Cylinder Block. Re-machining of cylinder blocks to engine manufacturer’s standards. The company has three state-of-the-art purpose designed cylinder block machining centres capable of machining engine blocks up to MTU 20V 4000 series and Caterpillar 3600 series V20 blocks. Larger engine blocks up to 5.0m and 10 tonne, typically from the Marine, Rail and Gas industry sectors, are capable of being machined on the company’s universal floor boring machine.
  • Crankshaft. The company has four crankshaft grinding machines and is capable of grinding/polishing crankshafts up to 4.5m long and weighing 3.0 tonne to the highest standards to achieve a world-class finish. Teterin Engineering is a recognised specialist at crankshaft grinding having skilled crankshaft tradesmen capable of meeting the demanding tolerances and finishes of engine manufacturers.
  • Cylinder Head. The cylinder head department strips, cleans, surveys, pressure tests and re-machines cylinder heads and components utilising the latest machining tools and specialised equipment to ensure we achieve the most exacting tolerances, finishes and quality.
  • Connecting Rods. The company has state-of-the-art machine tools for the purpose of machining or grinding connecting rods. These machines and the skilled operators recondition connecting rods by observing a standard procedure for surveying and reconditioning. This ensures consistency and accuracy of the reconditioned rods. The company is capable of reconditioning connecting rods having a maximum tunnel size of 400mm and weighing up to 500kg.
  • Ancillary Engine Components. The company has a large engineering section capable of re-machining engine components such as sumps, covers, bases, engine pipes, water pumps, and radiator fans.
  • Transmission. The company has the capacity to undertake reclamation welding and machining of selected transmission hubs and other transmission components including planetary gears and clutches.
